Police brutality costs lives and billions of dollars to tax payers

As we are all trying to heal from the verdict of the Philando Castile case, it was reported that his family was given 3 million dollars in a settlement. We know that there is no amount of money that can bring him back it still makes me wonder if the courts and a jury found the shooting to be justified then what is the money for? I mean if you go to trial for stealing and a jury of your peers find you not guilty, the state doesn't give money to the person or establishment that accused you of stealing, right? This is just the latest settlement agreement awarded to a family where the officer was acquitted on all charges.  I found some information that really makes you think.    It was reported that Chicago alone has spent $642 million dollars on police brutality- related cases since 2004 that's roughly $53 million a year. This has in turn caused some public schools to be shut down and other city project budgets to be either tremendously cut or cut off. In 2014 Chicago PD was

NYC special Elections

First off I'd like to start by speaking on our [NYC special Elections]. Time is running short and we need to do all we can to keep our state a blue state. I urge all of my fellow New Yorkers to take an interest and initiative into our [ NYC Special Election] and understand that even in the face of republican corruption, there are still things WE can do. Realize what is actually happening within our congress and the people that were chosen to represent us even if it wasn't us that chose them. This will be a short update because I would like for you to do your own research and make your own analysis. For a list of our [NYC Special Elections] and what's at stake click this link right here . Do you agree or disagree? Sound off in the comments below. Until next time! Because I will be back and I will not be silenced, unless I'm gunned down by the police for Jay walking SB: not a joke

What can we do about the new [Affordable Healthcare Act] in our state!

If you're on any kind of social media, I'm sure you've seen a number of posts, links and/or videos of the proposed bill for  the [Affordable Health Care Act]. If you are like me and are actually paying attention and are appalled by the [Affordable Health Care Act] and the new [Republicans' Education Bill], please know that there are things YOU can do right now as we read. For those of you that don't know I'd like to give you a little information on the new [Affordable Health Care Act].       First let's start with the so-called new [Affordable Health Care Act]. This bill will within  the next 10 years will leave 18-25 Million Americans without health insurance.  The bill which calculated premiums by income will now decide premiums according to age. Why is this a problem you ask? Because healthy people don't need as much coverage as someone who is say 72 years old with a heart condition, needs a Home Health Aide to get around and may suffer from PTS

Our dumb ass "President "

So it seems there has been rumors of impeachment proceedings. With all the investigations and his obvious ignorance about the American people. He has tried to pass bills such as "the new affordable health care act". A bill which could leave up to 25 million Americans without health insurance. A good majority of his supporters are currently under "Obama care". What will they do now? Remember during his campaign he said that he was going to "take care of women"? How is defunding Planned Parenthood taking care of women? You do know that abortions are not the only thing that they do. There are men that also go to Planned Parenthood as well. Oh and let's not forget that under the new AHCA rape is considered a pre-existing condition as well as pregnancy. How is that taking care of women? Those same people that say abortions are wrong are the same ones claiming their tax dollars shouldn't have to pay for another single mother that made the "mistake

Do we fear gay people more than police brutality?

I'm back! Anyway the other day I made 2 separate Facebook posts. One where I spoke about being brought up in a racially biased society. I spoke on a topic that has been studied and experimented with for about 30 years or so. If you don't know who Jane Elliot is, you should find out fast. In the late 1960s early 70s. Elliot was a third grade teacher and right after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated she decided to do an experiment on her third graders to show them what people of color are faced with every single day.The experiment is called "the blue eyed brown eyed experiment". It showed how the anger and urge to fight back comes so naturally. Anyway I won't spend too much time on that. If you'd like to know more visit www.janeelliot.com  . Continuing my second post posed this question: Can u give me a legitimate reason why being gay is wrong WITHOUT using God, the Bible or law/government. My second post (pertaining to the question of gay people) has 6

13 Reasons Why

So this the letter I received from my son's school. Talking about the Netflix original "13 Reasons Why" . Basically trying to get Parents involved. I understand as parents we should take into account and pick up on the signs that our children give us. I was a troubled teen and I did things for attention from my parents. But how do you really know what's going on with your children? How do you get them to open up if something is happening? I don't want to come home and find my baby bleeding to death in the bathtub. I know this may sound cliche and we've all heard our parents say this growing up but it's true. Things were simpler in my day. Nowadays teenagers get into a fight and everyone pulls their phone out. I've seen grown ass men jump a 13 year old girl. I've seen grown ass men watching a fight of 2 high school girls and taping it on their phones while yelling "yeah pull her shirt off". I've known a school crossing g
